Today, May 14, 2020, the Ministry of Health has confirmed 21 new COVID-19 cases in the country, and yes, you guessed right, all are truck drivers. The new cases were confirmed after testing 1,593 samples of truck drivers who arrived via Mutukula, Busia, and Elegu border points.
The cases include Ugandans, Kenyans, Tanzanians, and South Sudanese who were coming from Kenya, Tanzania and South Sudan. The good news is that all 303 community samples have tested negative for COVID-19.
In total, 1,896 samples have been tested today. With 21 new cases, it means that Uganda has confirmed 160 COVID-19 cases in total, with 63 recoveries.
