Police have been hunting a boda boda cyclist Mbago Yasin, 46, for strangling his wife and two sons. Yasin, a resident of Banda B in Nakawa Division, Kampala is said to have killed his wife and two children on Friday at around 4 am.
He put their bodies in polythene bags that he abandoned in the house and fled. According to residents, the wife has been accusing the man of failure to feed the family during the lockdown. This resulted into regular fights between the couple.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesman, Patrick Onyango said officers had been dispatched to hunt for Yasin. News coming in is that he has been identified and arrested in Luuka District, currently detained at CPS in Luuka, pending transfer to Jinja Road Police Station.
“We suspect the murder was as a result of a domestic violence incident,” Onyango said.
The deceased were identified as Carol Nambozo, 25, and her children Musa, 4, and Shaban, 7.
During lockdown, Police say they are registering a lot of domestic violence cases. In this, Police have urged the public to try to solve their issues amicably.
