Uganda COVID-19 cases increased to 88 yesterday after three samples tested positive. However, on Friday two cases were confirmed and one case was for a Police officer from Masindi Police barracks who was confirmed from random (rapid assessment survey) testing.
This has caused panic in the area as the officer is believed to have come in contact with hundreds of people. The Health Ministry has now put in quarantine all the 104 officers residing in Masindi barracks and their immediate their families.
Police Management has also his morning disinfected Masindi Police Station and barracks.
“All officers and their families under quarantine shall be tested for the virus and further measures shall be communicated to ensure safety of all people wishing to access Police services at our stations,” said Deputy Police Spokesperson Polly Namaye.
President Museveni is tomorrow expected to address the nation about the way forward of the fight against COVID-19 as the 21 days of lockdown climax on Tuesday May 5.
