Five-year-old boy, Mulindwa Sulaiti has also heeded to President Museveni’s call to support the COVID-19 response. Mulindwa donated 10kgs of maize flour and Shs10,000 to the National Task Force.
“We appreciate your hands and kind gesture,” Dr Diana Atwine, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health told Mulindwa.
In other donations that have received today at the Ministry of Health headquarters, Chinese Government donated medical supplies including; N95 masks, surgical masks, disposable protective clothing, medical protective goggles, medical isolation covers among others. These will be used to support the frontline health workers in the COVID-19 response.
Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, Minister of Health today flagged off teams to conduct a rapid assessment survey. This survey intends to estimate the prevalence of COVID-19 among communities in Uganda.
In more good news, five patients who were previously confirmed for COVID-19 have recovered, tested negative twice for the disease and were discharged today from hospital.
Three were discharged from Entebbe Hospital while two patients were discharged from Mulago Hospital. Total recoveries now stand at: 52.
President Museveni is this evening at 8pm expected to address the nation for the twelfth time to provide updates on COVID19.
