City businessman and socialite, Sulaiman Kabangala Mbuga alias SK Mbuga has urged Ugandans to continue obeying to government’s directive of staying home to prevent the risk of spreading the deadly coronavirus.
Mbuga said though he is aware that vulnerable Ugandans are starving at their homes, he claimed that it is better that way, than getting out of home and contract coronavirus.
“It is better to have one person die of hunger than 10 people dying of coronavirus. Hunger can’t be spread but this virus can spread within no time,” Mbuga said.
Mbuga promised to offer more food relief and other essential items to the vulnerable poor. He also disclosed that he will be giving food items to the Muslim community that is set to start their Ramadan this week.
Earlier this month, Mbuga donated 40 tonnes (40,000kg) of maize flour to the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) towards the Anti-Coronavirus National Task Force that is distributing food relief to various people affected by the shutdown in the country.
