Pastor Aloysius Bugingo through his House of Prayer Ministries International church has contributed Shs100m to the National Response Fund meant to support the fight against COVID-19.
Bugingo said that he has not got the money direct from his pocket but rather he collected it from his followers. He urged fellow religious leaders to also actively participate in the fight by giving back to the communities.
“Don’t only be on the receiving end,” Bugingo said.
He further called upon Ugandans to respect the issued guidelines aimed at breaking the chain of further spreading of coronavirus in the country.
“It is better to be locked home than being locked in the coffin. At home, you will get a chance to move again while in the coffin you are gone forever,” he said.
Bugingo becomes the second pastor to donate to the National Task Force after Pastor Robert Kayanja of Miracle Centre Cathedral who gave out food items and other essential commodities to various residents in Kampala slums.
