Yesterday, President Yoweri Museveni sacked Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) boss Doris Akol and appointment John Musinguzi Rojoki as the new Commissioner General. Four-time Presidential aspirant, Dr Kizza Besigye thinks Musiguzi has been finally rewarded for his key role in the made-up rape case against him way back in 2005.

In an opinion of Besigye ran by Newz Post, Besigye said all the key players in the rape were rewarded some time back.

“It is actually surprising that, unlike his teammates, Gen Kale Kayihura and Justice Simon Byabakama, John Musinguzi Rukoki had not featured prominently in top Government offices!” Besigye said.

He narrated Musinguzi’s role in the rape case.

“Mr Musinguzi played a key role in the patently trumped-up rape case.
At the time, he worked as the Head of Audit and Finance in the Revenue Protection Services (RPS), then headed by Gen (now) Kale Kayihura. Apparently, during the trial, he had stepped out to work for a private IT Company.

“In his evidence, he said that he and his family were known to President Museveni, even before he was appointed to work for RPS because they hail from the same place,” Besigye said.

“He said that he is the one who took Kyakuwa (the rape case complainant) to meet Museveni at State House, where, as the Court heard, the case was ‘constructed’!” he added.

Nevertheless, Besigye said he is not that person who keeps grudges as he already moved on from that case.
