Even though we are always reminded by religious leaders to pray at all times, often times we wait until things have turned sour for us to turn to God. In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, almost every country has held national prayers to plead to God to come to our rescue.
The same is set to happen in Uganda today as State House will hold prayers today at 2pm in Entebbe.
Held under the theme quoting a verse from the Bible 2 Chronicles 6:27, “Hear from heaven and forgive the sins of your servants, your people”, the prayer service is aimed at asking God for the forgiveness of our sins, to protect us from the Coronavirus pandemic, heal those infected around the world and put an end to its spreading.
“We believe that we can never do enough in the face of coronavirus unless God is with us. We shall hold prayers as a nation at State House, Entebbe. Join us from wherever you will be,” President Museveni tweeted. The service will be live on all radio and television channels.
Uganda has no confirmed coronavirus infections as of now, but that does not mean we cannot pray for God’s protection against it.
