Last week on Thursday, former Security Minister Lt. Gen Henry Tumukunde was arrested with 13 others from his offices in Kololo on charges of treason, for Police said he called on Rwanda to help him oust President Museveni, something that violates the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda.
His Lawyer, Alex Luganda embarked on the road to secure his freedom but the road is becoming bumpier every day that goes by. Luganda has revealed that he has even started getting death threats from unknown individuals telling him to stop representing Tumukunde.
“I have received threats from different people. Right now, six security officers in civilian clothes were deployed around my office. Others are following me wherever I go,” Luganda said.
Yesterday, Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga said that Tumukunde and 13 others’ case files are ready and likely to reach the Director of Public Prosecution’s office by today.
Tumukunde, who declared his intentions to stand against President Museveni in the 2021 general elections is currently hospitalized after fainting in Police custody on Sunday.
