Police has today suspended the Regional ICT maintenance officer at the territorial Police in Busoga East, Assistant Superintendant of Police (ASP) Yasser Masinde for putting the image of Police to shame.

While addressing a press conference today at the headquarters in Naguru, Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga said Masinde was recorded on Christmas Eve in uniform dancing and holding two bottles of beer.

“It is a very serious matter when you are in uniform and get drunk. As an organization, we expect the highest level of discipline and professionalism from every officer,” Enanga said.

He added, “We understand that in order to maintain the public’s trust, we need to be transparent with our actions. We take our responsibility to the public seriously and will continue holding our members who choose to act wrongly accountable for their actions.”

Enanga said Masinde has been charged with discreditable conduct which is punishable with dismissal once convicted.
