Minister Kasolo claims he only invited 200 people but his campaign message attracted hundreds of supporters, urges EC to reduce recommended people from 200 to 30

State Minister for Microfinance who is race to defend his Kyotera Member of Parliament (MP) Seat, Haruna Kasolo has for the first time spoken about holding a rally at Kalisizo playground- attracting a mammoth crowd two weeks ago.

Speaking during press address after appearing before the Electoral Commission over the incident, Kasolo said he did not intend to hold a rally as he had strictly directed his organisers to invite only the recommended 200 people for his campaign meeting.

“The number of people I met during my campaign rally is smaller than what EC has showed me on video. I told my organisers to invite only 200 people. I’m going to investigate these numbers,” said Minister Kasolo.

Kasolo however reveals that the majority of the individuals that attended were not invited but rather were attracted by his campaign message.

He admits that COVID-19 is real and leaders must not risk the lives of Ugandans for mere elections. He has urged the EC to reduce the number of recommended people to attend meeting from 200 to 30.
