With the on-going protests and a number of deaths registered, the Democratic Party presidential candidate Nobert Mao has asked the masses and security forces to stop the violence.

“Let’s stop the violence and bloodshed. The NUP Presidential Candidate must be freed immediately,” said Mao

Mao also said that there’s more at stake than who becomes the next president and the whole future of Uganda is at stake.

Mao also said that his team is suspending all its campaign meetings and will be meeting other presidential candidates to discuss a way forward.

He also called upon police to stop violence and asked the angry rioters not to copy what the police is doing.

“I appeal to the angry people. Let us not stop harassing and victimizing innocent people otherwise we will be fighting evil using evil,” said Mao.

He also called upon the electoral commission to either intervene or call off the elections. Mao said he will be meeting with other presidential candidates tomorrow to forge a way forward.

“I remain hopeful that after our meeting tomorrow we shall have a common ground as the joint forces of change,” said Mao.
