“We are not yet officially informed about Bobi Wine’s manifesto launch”- Mbarara City deputy RDC

Just a day to the launch of National Unity Platform (NUP) manifesto at their offices in Mbarara City, the Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RDC) of Mbarara city, Emmy Katera Turyabagyenyi has warned the National Unity Platform (NUP) against holding their manifesto launch before fulfilling all the necessary protocol.

Turyabagyenyi says that the team has not yet written to the city authorities seeking permission to conduct such an event within the city as per the law.

“We are not yet officially informed about Bobi Wine’s manifesto launch. The law requires us to protect our people,” says Turyabagyenyi.

However, the deputy president of Western Uganda, NUP, Jolly Mugisha says they have officially written to the Mbarara City leadership and only waiting for clearance from the concerned authorities.

Mugisha reveals that Turyabagyenyi’s words indicate that there is an intended mission by the government to block their manifesto launch.

NUP is set to launch their presidential manifesto tomorrow on Saturday at their offices in Mbarara City. Bobi Wine was duly nominated to run for presidency on Tuesday this week.
