Kampala Parents’ leading by example as schools officially reopen

Following the closure of schools in March this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Schools have today officially opened for final year students. Last month President Museveni announced the re-opening of schools to only candidates on condition the schools adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) set by the Ministry of Education.

Having fulfilled all the requirements for opening the school, Kampala Parents School was issued a certificate of compliance by the Permanent secretary, Ministry of Education Alex Kakooza and re-opened today.

The school being a day school, the primary seven candidates were dropped by their parents. Before accessing the school premises all students were required to have their temperatures checked, masks and also sanitize.

Social distancing was maintained in the classrooms and in the dinning sector. Kampala Parents’ school is on an international level but follows a local curriculum. The candidates will be sitting for their Primary Leaving Examination in April next year.

Among the Sops set, the students are supposed to maintain a social distance of two meters in classrooms, learners are to wear masks and sanitize.
