Following the disqualification of Democratic Party (DP) candidate Beatrice Kayanja from contesting for the Kampala Lord Mayor Seat as she was not in the voter’s data system, renowned dramatist, Charles James Ssenkubuge has decided to fill up the void.

Ssenkubuge has declared his intentions to stand for the position on DP ticket. And he is set to be nominated today at 2pm at the Electoral Commission offices in Ntinda.

The veteran dramatist is making a second try in politics as in 2001 he stood for President before opting out citing insecurity on his person.
