Ssebaggala’s burial delayed for a week to enable 14 of his children who are in America to return

The family of the late Former Kampala Mayor, Al Hajji Nasser Ntege Ssebagala has confirmed that they have resolved to delay Ssebaggala’s burial for a week to allow all his children to return home and attend their father’s send off.

According to Ssebaggala’s young brother, Hajj Muhammad Ssebaggala the burial has been pushed to next Sunday on October 4. Ssebaggala said 14 of the children are in the United States of America.

“We had earlier on indicated to the public that Hajji Ssebagala will be laid to rest tomorrow [Sunday], after intensive consultations and discussion with the family, we have resolved that Hajji Ssebagala will be laid to rest on 4th October – next Sunday here at Kisassi at 2 pm.

This has been caused due to the fact that Hajji Ssebagala has got about 14 children who are in the diaspora, in different states. And in order to accommodate them such that they are present here when burying their father, we have resolved that let us give them a chance to come and join us in this trying moment,” said Muhammad.

Muhammad added that in the meantime, at their ancestral home in Kikulu, Kisaasi, the family will hold prayer sessions every day between 4-6 pm in memory of their deceased relative.

Ssebagala died on Saturday at International Hospital Kampala (IHK) where he has been for the past few weeks. He was admitted at the facility after he fall in his bathroom as he attempted to take a shower.
