Uganda registers 201 new COVID-19 cases, recoveries rise to 1,876

The ministry of health has this afternoon on September 8 reported 201 new COVID-19 cases. This brings the total cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans to 4,101.

Amongst the 201 new confirmed cases; 198 are alerts and contacts (Kitgum -80, Kampala -38, Moroto -23, Gulu -10, Amuru -8, Lira -6, Wakiso -6, Kikuube -4, Zombo -4, Amolator -2, Buikwe -2, Butebo -2, Lamwo -2, Adjumani -1, Arua -1, Kasese -1, Koboko -1, Luwero -1, Mukono -1, Butaleja -1 and Nakaseke -1).

Others are truck drivers (2) from Elegu point of entry and one return from United Arab Emirates (UAE). Additionally one Kenyan truck driver who tested positive at Malaba boarder was not permitted to enter.

The total number of people who have healed from the Coronavirus is also rising as it now stands at 1,876. The health ministry has not reported any COVID-19 related death today and so the number of COVID-19 deaths in Uganda remains at 46.
