Thugs broke the Koboko ‘gate’ – Minister Anite admits her loss is a big win for the opposition

State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization, Evelyn Anite in crying foul after losing against son to former Speaker of Parliament and Attorney General, late Francis Ayume, Dr. Charles Ayume in the NRM primaries for Koboko Municipality Member of Parliament Seat party flag bearer in the forthcoming elections.

Anite says she might have lost the battle but the war is still on war and ready to carry it on. She claims that Ayume is not NRM as most of the members in his camp belong to the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).

Dr Charles Ayume.

The minister says Ayume ferried voters from different political parties with the help of the Koboko Central Police Station DPC.

“Robbers broke the Koboko gate and won the battle. But I am ready to rebuild the gate and fight again,” says Anite as she admits that her loss is a big win for the opposition but a sad moment for the NRM party.

Anite reveals that her supporters have already started denouncing NRM and President Yoweri Museveni. However, she states that she has to first meet President Museveni before making any decision.

“My love for NRM is centred on President Museveni. I stand for his values and I will follow all what he tells me,” she says.

The provisional results showed Ayume gathered 7384 while Anite gathered 5851.

Yesterday Ayume dared the minister to contest as independent in the general election.

“I know Anite is loud but I dare her to stand as independent. I will again defeat her,” he said.
