If it’s okay for doctor’s children to become doctors then why don’t you want politician’s children to be politicians? – Francis Babu

The current regime has been criticised of creating a ‘political dynasty’ as regime strongpersons have kept on fronting their children for various elective positions.

Veteran ruling NRM cadre Captain Francis Babu has defended the move saying politics is a talent that can be passed on to generations. He said people’s talents shouldn’t be killed because they are married to someone.

“I have seen doctor’s children becoming doctors. Why don’t you want politician’s children to be politicians?”  Babu asked. However, he said it’s unfair for children to use their parents’ positions to win.

“If free and fair elections are in place, nobody should be discriminated,” he said.

Cedric Babu Ndilima, a son to Francis Babu who currently works with Uganda Broadcasting Corporation as Head of Content already announced his intentions to contest for Kampala Central Member of Parliament Seat which is currently occupied by Mohammed Nsereko. Cedric is set to contest on NRM ticket.

Captain Babu revealed that there are ‘witches’ in NRM who use their positions to push out loyal cadres with negative criticism.

“When you criticize, some people say you are negative towards the party. Positive criticism should be welcome,” he said.
