City lawyer Male Mabirizi has paid the amount required by the Electoral Commission to provide him with Bobi Wine’s academic papers that he requested for last week as he filed his petition.

Mabirizi paid Shs20000 to Bank of Africa as required by EC and he’s only waiting for the commission to avail him with the legislator’s academic documents.

Last week on Monday August 10, Lawyer Mabirizi  petitioned the EC seeking to be availed with the academic documents for Presidential hopeful Robert Kyagulanyi.

In his petition, Mabirizi requested for the certified academic copies of Bobi Wine as he claimed that the Kyadondo East MP does not have the required minimum qualifications for being in the August House.

“Section 4(3)( C) of the Parliamentary Elections Act ,2005 provides that a person is qualified to be an MP if that person has completed a minimum formal education of Advanced level standard or its equivalent, qualifications,” said Mabirizi in his petition.

He added, “The required documents are required to satisfy my doubts that the said Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu possesses the said qualifications given that as per his details, available at the parliamentary website, he was born in 1982 and sat A- level in 1998. The peculiarity about this is that if the birth year is true, he sat A-level at 16 years, O-level at 13 years PLE at nine years and joined primary one at two years.”
