The entertainment industry is one of the sectors that was badly hit by the Covid 19 pandemic, with close to five months out of business Ugandan deejays have come out and asked government to allow them resume work like other sectors.

Through their social media platforms the deejays have started a campaign named ‘Save The Deejay’ demanding to get back to work.

“Five months, no work. Landlords have started kicking us out of houses; we can no longer put food on our tables because Ministry of Health thinks bars can’t follow SOPs. Has the Ministry even taken time off to come up with SOPs for Bars #We also want to get back to work,” Deejays shared on their media platforms.
