Health Ministry investigating possible COVID-19 death

The Ministry of Health is investigating the death of a 34 year old female who passed on yesterday, July 21, 2020 at a clinic in Mbale. The deceased is a Kenyan national married to a Ugandan.

The ministry says upon admission, she presented with COVID related symptoms including; fever, headache and difficulty in breathing.

The Ministry of Health has dispatched a team of experts to conduct further investigations. It reveals that samples have been withdrawn from the body and are currently being tested for COVID-19 at Uganda Virus Institute.

“The Ministry will inform the country of the outcome of laboratory tests conducted on the body of the deceased accordingly,” says the ministry in a statement.

Today the ministry confirmed three new COVID-19 cases taking the cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans to 1,075. Total recoveries stand at 958.
