Five returnees test positive for COVID-19 as Uganda’s confirmed cases rise to 1,062

The Ministry of Health has today confirmed six (6) new COVID-19 cases. The cumulative total confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 1,062.

Among the new cases, five are returnees who were under quarantine at the time of test. Four returned from South Africa while one Indian, a resident of Uganda returned from India. The other case was an alert from Buikwe District.

Additionally, 26 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 at the border points of entry and their entry into the country was not permitted.

Currently, Uganda has 169 Active cases on admission all together. But among these 145 are Ugandans, 22 are foreigners while two are refugees.

The total number of recoveries is continuing to rise as it now stands at 1,048 (Includes both Ugandans and Foreigners).
