More returnees test positive for COVID-19 as Uganda’s confirmed cases rise to 939

The ministry of health has today confirmed 12 new COVID-19 cases. The cumulative total confirmed cases in Uganda now stands at 939.

Amongst the new confirmed cases, two are truck drivers from Malaba and Mutukula; seven are contacts from Amuru while three are returnees; one from South Africa and two from Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Additionally, 11 foreign truck drivers tested positive for COVID-19 at the border points of entry and their entry into the country was not permitted.

Uganda has registered 891(Includes both Ugandans and Foreigners) recoveries so far with no single death. The active cases on admission are 197 (167 Ugandans,25 foreigners and 5 refugees).
