Health Ministry confirms 12 new COVID-19 cases, recoveries rise to 761 as active cases reduce to 72

The Ministry of Health has confirmed 12 new COVID-19 cases. The total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now 833. Amongst the new cases, two are truck drivers who arrived from Kenya via Malaba border point.

The remaining 10 new cases are contacts and alerts of the previous confirmed cases; four from Amuru, two from Kyotera, one from Tororo, one from Buikwe and two from Luwero districts.

The Ministry has said that, 25 truck drivers (15 Kenyans, nine Tanzanians, and one Congolese) who tested positive were returned to their respective country of origin for treatment.

With the number of recoveries rising to 761 by yesterday, it means that the number of active COVID-19 cases has reduced to just 72. No single COVID-19-related death has been registered in the country so far.
