Health Ministry confirms 16 new COVID-19 cases, recoveries rise to 731

The Ministry of Health has confirmed 16 new COVID-19 cases. The total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now 821. Amongst the new cases, five are truck drivers of which four arrived from South Sudan via Elegu entry point while one arrive from Kenya via Busia point of entry.

The remaining 11 new cases are contacts and alerts of the previous confirmed cases; four from Kyotera, four from Amuru, one from Tororo, one from Kulambiro and one from Luwero district.

Additionally, seven truck drivers who tested positive were returned to their respective country of origin for treatment.

Uganda has only 90 active cases of COVID-19 as 731 people have fully recovered from the virus and got discharged. No single COVID-19-related death has been registered in the country so far.
