As Kenzo, Masaka Kids surpass 1m subscribers, here are the 10 most subscribed Ugandan entertainers on YouTube

As internet access and coverage in Uganda gets wider and data bundles get somewhat cheaper, Ugandans have increasingly embraced YouTube, the biggest video-sharing site in the world.

Content creators, musicians, and comedians among others who upload videos to YouTube have always asked their fans to subscribe to their YouTube channels so that they can watch more of their content. It should be noted that once a YouTube channel gets 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours, it gets monetized and owners can start getting royalties from YouTube.

Apart from Creator Awards which have no prize money, creators are more focused on royalties. Having more subscribers relies heavily on the quality of your content. Eddy Kenzo, who leads the Ugandan list has had a string of hits with sensational dancers (Masaka Kids Africana and Ghetto Kids) who have also made it to the list.

Comedienne Anne Kansiime’s skits fetch her a big following, and the same is true for Teacher Mpamire. East African music heavyweight Jose Chameleone’s longevity in the music industry and his hits have garnered him a following, same for ‘Karma Queen’ Sheebah Karungi.

Without wasting much of your time, here are the 10 Ugandan entertainers with the most subscribers on YouTube.

And there you have it.
