Bobi Wine donates Shs13.5m to Kasese flood victims

Presidential hopeful Hon Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine under his pressure group People Power Movement have donated Shs13.5 million to Kasese district floods victims.

Kasese district has been the hardest hit district by recent floods in the region that have left over 120,000 persons displaced, gardens and property destroyed.

At People Power’s offices in Kamwokya, Bobi Wine handed over the contribution to Kasese district Member of Parliament, Winnie Kiiza.

“We handed over a contribution of 13,500,000/= (Thirteen Million, Five Hundred Thousand Shillings) to Hon. Winnie Kiiza to assist our sisters and brothers who are affected by flooding in Kasese district. This money was contributed by ourselves as well as comrades in Uganda and abroad,” Bobi Wine said.

He added, “I am very grateful to all of you who have responded to our call and made contributions to this noble cause. To you comrades in Kasese, we stand with you and pray for you.”

In appreciation, Winnie Kiiza said; “On behalf of the people of Kasese and on my own behalf, I want to take this opportunity to thank the leadership and our friends of the People Power Movement for their kind and generous contribution.”
