Army MPs offer Shs2m off their salary to the National COVID-19 Taskforce for the next six months

All the 10 Army Members of Parliament have agreed to donate Shs2 million off their parliament salary to the National COVID-19 Task Force. The Army MPs will be doing so for the next six months according to Minister for Security, Gen Elly Tumwine.

Tumwine made the revelation this morning at the Office of Prime Minister where they appeared to handover Shs20 million that parliament gave to each MP.

In total, the Army MPs handed over Shs200 million and monthly they will be donating Shs20 million to the task force. The army representatives in parliament include; Tumwine, Gen. Katumba Kamala, Brigadier Innocent Oula, Capt. Suzan Lakot, Col. Felix Kulayigye, Maj. Gen. Pecos Kutesa, Col. Francis Takirwa, Lt. Col. Flavia Byekwaso, Lt. Gen. Ivan Koreta, and Capt. Evelyn Assimwe.

Bishop Anthony Joseph Zziwa of Kiyinda Mityana and the chairman of the National Episcopal Conference on behalf of the Catholic Church also donated five tonnes of beans and five tonnes of maize flour to the National Taskforce.
