Kira Municipality legislator Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda is continuing to show no regret in Parliament allocating itself the controversial Shs10 billion. According to Ssemujju, he is facing extraordinary circumstances that the issue of morality around Shs20 million given to each Member of Parliament will be discussed after the nation overcomes COVID-19.

“I have returned money before. Today, I face extraordinary circumstances. The debate of morality around this time is a luxury,” Ssemujju said while appearing on NBS Morning Breeze.

“Every day, I have people knock at my gate asking for help. I have done things I never thought I would ever do. I have opened up a porridge serving centre, you find pregnant women lining up for it,” he added.

Ssemujju said for this time he is unapologetic and ready to be demonised for receiving the money and he hopes Parliament can increase the amount they were allocated.

“I am not returning money and I am not apologetic for it. Even if you have food at your home, I will come and pick it and feed my people,” Ssemujju said before adding that;“I am trying to reach out to Speaker Kadaga to see if the Shs20m can be increased to Shs100m.”
