Kyadondo East Member of Parliament (MP) Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine named Dr. Zedriga Lina Waru Abuku as his Deputy in the People Power Movement

“I take this opportunity to introduce to you comrade Dr Zedriga Lina Waru Abuku, the Deputy Leader of the People Power Movement,” Bobi Wine said in a statement.

He added, “Comrade Zedriga is an activist, lawyer and university lecturer.”

The Presidential hopeful described Zedriga as one of his mentors in the political struggle.

“She is a retired judicial officer, author, and mentor. She is a social inclusion advocate and has participated in Uganda’s political processes for a very long time. She has borne the brunt of the regime’s excesses as will be communicated in due course,” Bobi said.

He stated, “We are very excited to welcome her to the leadership of the People Power Movement.”

Dr Zedriga is known for role in pressuring government to take ownership of the issue of sexual violence and to implement the full range of commitments under the Peace, Security and Cooperation Framework.

She is a former member of The Association for Women Lawyers-FIDA and Women’s Civil Society Leader.

Zedriga is the director of a leadership training program (Zedriga) that promotes unity among all those affected by the northern Uganda war.

Last year in July, Bobi Wine unveiled a team to coordinate People Power activities countrywide ahead of the 2021 General elections.
