President Yoweri Museveni will once again address the nation after Uganda confirmed five new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 23 cases.
In his social media post this morning, Museveni revealed that more strict measures might be required to prevent the community spread of coronavirus.
“We may have to take additional drastic measures. I will keep you informed,” Museveni said. Should we expect a total lockdown of the country? Let us not speculate and wait for the confirmation of the President’s address.
The Ministry of Health yesterday disclosed that 227 returnees from Dubai and other places were tested for COVID-19, and five were positive.
According to Museveni, although the number is growing, he is however happy that the majority of returnees are negative (222).
“The worry is that the people who are positive had circulated in the population. Nevertheless, the medical teams will trace all the contacts and check on them,” he said.
