CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: Health Ministry confirms five more cases today, bringing the total to 23

The number of coronavirus cases in Uganda is increasing. This evening, the Ministry of Health has confirmed five more cases in the country in addition to the four President Museveni announced in the morning.

The five positive cases have come from the 227 samples tested today at the Uganda Viral Research Institute. 222 samples tested negative for COVID-19, according to the Ministry of Health.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 23. This is happening as the country is under partial lockdown, with mass gatherings of any kind, bars, clubs, concerts, and public transport all suspended by the President in the due course of the week.

Social distancing, isolation, washing hands with soap regularly or using alcohol-based and sanitizers, covering the mouth and nose if symptoms present are highly urged by the Health Ministry in order to prevent the spreading of the deadly virus.
