Ugandans generally react positively to the President’s speech on Coronavirus, but with memes of course

Yesterday, President Museveni delivered a speech about Coronavirus and issued several directions to be followed in a period of 32 days as government is assessing the danger of the virus.

At this moment, Uganda has not recorded any Coronavirus infections but government thought it wise to take these precautionary measures, as strict screening is ongoing at Entebbe International Airport and all entry points at the border.

On a rare occasion, the majority of Ugandans have reacted positively to the President’s address, but with Ugandans on social media, you cannot miss out on the humour involved in their reactions.

We have become a country that makes fun of almost everything, however serious it is, including something as serious as the Coronavirus that has claimed the lives of over 8000 people worldwide.

But laughter has been said to be a medicine, so here are some of the picks..

As we are making fun of this very serious situation, let us not forget to practice basic personal hygiene like washing our hands with soap for over 20 seconds, dessist from handshakes and hugs, as well as touching the mouth, face and nose.
