Unlike 2019, 2020 started on a high in the Ugandan music industry with several musicians dropping ‘fire’ tunes that have made us believe this year is surely going to be bigger musically.

Last week, UG Records’ Roger Kent real name Roger Katende dropped his latest record titled ‘Ndeta fire’ which loosely translates to “I am bringing fire”, and we can authoritatively say he turned up the heat, as compared to his earlier releases.

In Ndeta fire Roger sings his heart out to his love interest saying all the nice things he can think about, promising to visit her and take the (love) fire to her. Roger’s voice goes high-pitched on the chorus to express emotion, and he so nearly brings it out.

The lyrics written by Roger himself are the words any one in love would love to hear a loved one say, and his second verse is truly the spine to this song for it takes it to a different level, although it lacks the climax we were so eagerly waiting for.

Produced by the very talented Nessim, he gives this song a vibe that crosses over from a love ballad to one you can dance to in the club. The song has a video ready that is enjoying fair airplay on local television channels.

With this kind of music, we cannot wait to hear what UG Records is cooking next.
