It is February and that means we have only a year and a few weeks before we go to the 2021 polls and everyone that gets a podium weighs in on what they expect the general elections to be.

One of them is Kira Municipality Member of Parliament Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda and he has predicted that we are about to experience the worst election in Uganda’s history.

Ssemujju said this while appearing on NBS TV’s Morning Breeze, and backed up his prediction with the fact that President Museveni does not want organized competition.

“2021 is likely to be the worst election this country has experienced because our dear leader does not want to face any organised competition. I do not think there is anyone sane who will say this election will be fair,” Ssemujju said.

Ssemujju added that the fact that the Police and Military are abusing the law and ‘one person and his group’ are campaigning every day while nobody else is allowed to do so is the reason why the 2021 general elections cannot be free and fair.

Ssemujju is not even enthusiastic about the proposed Electoral Reforms, saying that “what we have is not being followed.”
