People on social media are illiterate, unemployed and sad about their situation – Angella Katatumba defends her Kobe tribute

Angella Katatumba.

Being a public figure, Katatumba decided to join the rest of the world to mourn Sports Icon Kobe Bryant who had died in a helicopter crash.

“Oh noooo Kobe. I automatically liked you when I lived in Chicago, because everyone, especially my father-in-law, said you looked like my ex-husband Alonzo. May you rest in perfect peace. Thank you for your amazing talent,” Katatumba posted on her socials after the news of Kobe Bryant’s passing on Sunday evening.

Katatumba’s tribute received backlash with people creating a series of posts trolling her, claiming that she did not even know who Kobe was. The singer has come and said the public wrongly interpreted her message.

Katatumba first admitted to not knowing much about Kobe but said her message only explained how he got to know the basketball legend. She further lashed out to those who showered her with bad energy.

“People on social media are illiterate, unemployed and sad about their situation, that is why they always like negatively to people’s posts,” said Katatumba.

Katatumba was not the only one that was trolled for her tribute to Kobe; Chosen Becky, David Lutalo and Big Eye also faced the wrath of social media trolls.
