With February a few days away, holidaymakers are set to report back to school while others are already back at school. Today we are preparing doughnuts for the students to pack for school or for breakfast.

Ingredients

  • Two cups of floor
  • ½ tablespoon of salt in a bowl
  • ½ a cup of warm milk
  • ½ a tablespoon of dry yeast
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 1 egg

Pour two cups of floor in a bowl, add half a tablespoon salt. Stir the mixture to evenly distribute the salt in the mixture and make a hole in mixture.

Step 2

Get another bowl, add half a cup of warm milk, half tablespoon of dry yeast, three tablespoons of sugar, two tablespoons of melted butter and one egg. Then whisk the mixture until well combined.

Step 3

When all the ingredients are thoroughly mixed, pour the mixture in the hole of the flour.Mix it well until it makes a soft and sticky dough.

Step 3

Turn to a slightly floured surface. Knead for 10 minutes until it is elastic and smooth then fold the dough over and push down with the heel of your hand. Repeat the process over and over again

Step 4

Add one tablespoonful of oil to the bowl to grease it then place the dough in a bowl. Cover it until it is doubled in size

Step 5

Punch down the dough and knead it back to its original size and roll out to half thickness and cut using cookie-shaped cutters. After that, use a smaller cookie cutter to get the doughnut shape. Cover loosely and allow it to rise. Then put in cooking oil to fry.
