Load shedding to hit Uganda in February as Umeme plans to shut down across the country for maintenance

Janworry might be ending soon so we don’t have to worry much about brokenness but there is something else to worry about.

Electricity provider Umeme has announced a planned shut down for February in different districts all over the country to carry out maintenance on their substations.

According to a short statement released on their website, Umeme said that the shutdown is intended to “serve us better with reliable, safe and quality electricity.”

Umeme are always doing maintenance on their lines and disrupting power supply in the process for prolonged hours so surely, “the areas of Ntinda, Kiwatule, and the surrounding areas” are not new to this.

We hope the planned countrywide maintenance put all this to bed so the public can have continuous power supply.
