Another man divorces Judith Babirye 17 months into their marriage, says Babirye was cruel, denied him sex

Court has allowed Buikwe County North Member of Parliament Paul Musoke Sebulime and fellow legislator Judith Babirye to divorce each other from their 17 months marriage.

Justice Olive Karazarwe Mukaye of Makindye-based family division court said the petitioner (Sebulime) gave a detailed account of Babirye’s cruel actions that caused him mental and psychological torture.

“It was the contention the respondent (Babirye) has acted in a manner that shows no respect to the petitioner. There was denial of conjugal rights, isolation of the petitioner from his social interactions with the community and the long unexplained absences without communication all served to cause the petitioner distress,” reads part of the court ruling.

Justice Karazarwe said Babirye’s actions indicated that she was not committed to see her marriage succeed.

During the petition, Sebulime revealed that Babirye left the marital home just a month after they got married. In April 2019, Babirye abandoned Parliament and her marriage allegedly to protect herself and the unborn child. She settled in Boston, United States of America where she gave birth to a baby boy.

Before even court could confirm their official separation, Sebulime had already made up with his former wife Lukiya Ntale.

For the renowned gossip singer, this is her second marriage to face a similar fate of divorce. In 2017 she divorced Samuel Niwo with whom she had a daughter. The two had got married in 2005 and separated in 2009.
