We intend to have candidates from President to L.C. 1 Chairpersons – ANT party announce their 2021 election plans

Today in the morning, ‘baby’ political party Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) held a press conference at their party headquarters along Buganda road in Nakasero to officially start the year and reveal their plans for the coming 2021 general elections.

Contrary to some opposition figures hinting on the possibility of boycotting the 2021 general elections if the proposed reforms are not put in place, ANT has different thoughts about that as they have revealed that they will not boycott the elections, and plan to even have candidates in every possible position.

“We will not boycott the elections because elections are for everyone. We intend to have candidates from President to L.C. 1 Chairpersons. It is an internal process we are working on and we will elect the suitable candidates with in our party,” Wilberforce Seryanzi, ANT Spokesperson said.

Although that is the case, ANT said that they are open to forming a coalition with other opposition parties but it should be based on cooperation, honesty and strategy.

ANT also expressed their dissatisfaction with the way Police officers have been implementing the Public Order Management Act, acting as a stumbling block in the association of opposition leaders with their supporters, most recently blocking Bobi Wine’s consultation meetings.
