On August 28, 2019, the Electoral Commission embarked on the process of organising, merging, relocating and renaming polling stations that will be used in the 2021 general elections.
The commission projected to have over 35000 polling stations, 7000 more than what we had in the last general elections in 2016. All this, as EC Chairman Justice Simon Byabakama said, is intended to make sure voters cast their votes conveniently and timely come 2021.
After successfully conducting this exercise, the commission has released the full list of the gazetted polling stations to be used.
After verifying their particulars in the National Voters’ Register, voters are encouraged to check through this list and confirm whether their polling station has been gazetted.
