Uganda is progressing well in the ongoing Miss World competitions that will climax on December 14, 2019 in London, UK.
News reaching us is that Miss Uganda Oliver Nakakande managed to come out as Group 18 winner of the first round of Head to Head challenge at the beauty pageant.
Nakakande’s project is about increasing teenage literacy rates as one of the solutions to fight teenage pregnancies in Uganda and it falls right into the Pageant’s theme “Beauty with a purpose.”
Nakakande could not hide her excitement as she shared the triumph on her Instagram page.
“I am so humbled for this great opportunity of being the voice for so many young girls around the world that are going through similar situations,” she captioned the photo.
Nakakande will go head to head with Miss Mexico in the next round.
