First Street Industrial Area has been a scene of chaos today as hundreds of boda boda riders made their way to New Vision headquarters to get themselves Shs5 million that had been promised to them by a one Kamada Mulyowa, th self-proclaimed head of illuminate in Uganda.
Riders camped at Vision Group offices because Kamada made thye promise yesterday on Tuesday when he was hosted on a radio talk show by Kazibwe Bashir on Bukedde FM, one of Vision Group’s radio stations.
Although Kamada said he will dispense the cash at exactly 3pm, riders started making their way to Industrial Area as early as 3 am in the wee hours of the morning. To their disappointment, Kamada was nowhere to be seen at his promised time of 3pm and that is what prompted the boda boda riders to turn rowdy with threats to burn down New Vision offices.
Local Defence Unit officers with the help of Police were hurriedly called in to provide security to the area and as the norm, tear gas was used to disperse the crowd but they stood their ground and demanded at least to be provided with transport back to wherever they had come from.
The escalating situation forced Vision Group CEO Robert Kabushenga to come out to speak to the angry riders in an effort to return business to usual. Kabushenga issued an apology to them, saying that as a station, Kamada had conned them and by airing his false promises, the station also conned the listeners.
“You have asked that I apologize for all the trouble you have passed through. I apologise to you in front of this camera, please forgive me. The man conned us, and we conned you too, forgive me,” Kabushenga said amidst chants from the crowd.
Looks like the illuminati got caught up in the Kampala traffic at Clock Tower.
