We’ve all seen players stomp off the pitch in barely suppressed anger after their manager has subbed them out of a game. Yesterday night, Uganda Cranes, Abdu Lumala who plays for Pyramids appeared not pleased as he was substituted off before halftime in their Egyptian Premier League away tie against El-Harby.
In the 39th minute of the game, former Cranes Head Coach Sebatien Desabre decided to change Lumala for Islam Issa as his side had failed to break the deadlock. Lumala angrily stormed off the pitch before kicking his team’s official who was standing in the technical area.
Pyramids immediately got two quick goals when Lumala was off but they later survived a late scare as El-Harby nearly overturned their lead. The game ended 3-2.
After the game the pacy winger took his known Twitter handle to apologise for his action.
“I would like to apologize on behalf of my teammates and technical staff and our fans, it’s not acceptable am very sorry,” Lumala posted.
