The previous two months have seen city tycoon Mohan Kiwanuka’s family get involved in battle after battle, going back and forth to court and the hospital, and at times having their dirty laundry hung out in the media for public consumption.
All this stems from a one Jordan Ssebuliba who dragged his father Kiwanuka to court and asked demanded a mental test be done on him for he believed he was mentally deranged and unable to run his business. Ssebuliba did this in pursuit of administrator position of Kiwanuka’s business empire.
Kiwanuka, who is media shy and a very private person was forced to go against his tradition and appeared in a local television interview where he said that he is still fit enough to run all his businesses, and it is during this interview that he revealed that Ssebuliba is not even his biological son, even though he brought him up as his own.
This revelation did not sit well with Ssebuliba’s mother Beatrice Kavuma Kiwanuka and she has released a long statement detailing the beginnings of the family woes.
In the statement, Beatrice says that tycoon Kiwanuka is indeed ill and his medical condition is becoming an open secret to the public. Beatrice also says that her son Ssebuliba did not go to court to snatch his father’s property per se, but to protect what he had already assigned to them as his family, which assignments, including her marital home, were being threatened when Maria Kiwanuka took over the Director role in Kiwanuka’s vast business empire.
“Isn’t it curious that in the very recent past, since between April 2019 and now, especially when my children and I are denied access to him, he suddenly appoints my co-wife and current minder as Director? And that upon assumption of said Directorship, her first order of business is to cause our husband to become very harsh and hostile to my children and I, leading him to want to throw me out of my marital home of 31years, throw Jordan out of his work premises where his Law firm is located, throw Jordan and his siblings, my children from their business premises, which Mwaami Kiwanuka on his own volition asked the children to conduct business from these premises,” Beatrice wonders in part of the statement.
On noting that her co-wife Maria Kiwanuka was influencing their husband to make decisions that undermine her side of the family, Beatrice also says that they knew something was indeed wrong with Mohan Kiwanuka when he went on to deny ever birthing Ssebuliba, who Beatrice insists is his biological son.
“When my husband of 43 years, who has been known to have two wives and two homes with 8 children between us, got up on National Television and among other things, denied being married to me, and worse still, denied our second child, Jordan Ssebuliba Kiwanuka, is what confirmed our worst fears, that indeed, something is terribly wrong and that he is likely, in rapid decline,” she says.
Beatrice says that Ssebuliba is indeed Kiwanuka’s biological son, and they are willing to go do a DNA test on condition that Maria Kiwanuka does not use her resources to compromise the results.
