Speaking during an interview on NBS TV this morning, Security Minister Gen Elly Tumwine has indicated that they (bush-war generals) have the right to blow their own trumpet because of the sacrifices they made to restore peace and freedom in Uganda.

Tumwine said that Ugandans have gained confidence from the NRM unlike in the past regimes.

“Before, people feared to identify themselves as Ugandans due to the bad regime, today, every Ugandan is proud of being Ugandan even when they’re opposed to the current government,” Tumwine said.

Tumwine however, stated that every person has a role to play in the development of the country. As generals, Tumwine said they played their mandated part of creating something that did not exist.

“There are two types of people in this world, those who create what isn’t there, and this is what generals do. Generals create,” Tumwine said as he warned individuals to be careful when trying to talk about generals.

“You should know the kind of ground you’re trading on. Always look for the positive side of the generals,” he said.
