President Museveni is head over heels after receiving a letter from Pope Francis today afternoon, and we cannot blame him because it is not an everyday thing to receive a letter from the leader of the Catholic Church in the world.
We are sure many of you are now in a guess-game of which kind of message is in the letter Pope Francis has sent President Yoweri Museveni. Guess no more; the message has been just about peace and love.
“I have received a message from His Holiness Pope Francis,” President Museveni posted on his official social media pages.
“As I overfly Uganda, on my way to Mozambique, Madagascar and Mauritius, I send greetings to your excellency and fellow citizens assurance of my prayer for peace and harmony,” reads part of Pope’s letter.
The Pope adds, “I invoke abundant blessings upon all of you.”
“Thank you, Your Holiness for your prayers, wonderful wishes and blessings upon Uganda and its people. May the Lord accompany you and manifest himself through your works,” Museveni replied on his social media.
Pope Francis came to Uganda in 2015 and was meant to return this year in July to attend the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM) but the trip was cancelled to enable him attend to other activities.
