In a Withdrawal Form letter dated September 9, 2019, the DPP has written to court informing it about his loss of interest in the case.
“This is to inform court that the Director of Public Prosecution has decided to discontinue proceedings against Nantaba Idah Erios, Police Constable Opira Ronald, Police Constable Baganza Ronald and Police Constable Cherotich Edward,” reads the letter.
This news comes when minister Nantaba is currently in Canada for reasons not clearly known. The three officers are on remand in Luzira Prison.
