Gen Kasirye Ggwanga shoots two trucks in two weeks
Last week, the retired Major General Kasirye Ggwanga shot and deflated two tyres of a truck that was carrying logs of eucalyptus trees in Busujju, Mityana district.
Gen Kasirye claims that those who planted the commercial forests from which they log these trees first destroyed the natural forests they found in those areas. Prior to this incident, Gen Kasirye shot the tyres of another truck that was carrying logs of eucalyptus trees two weeks ago.
Rema to introduce her husband in November
Songbird Rema Namakula is set to introduce her husband come November this year. According to an invitation, Rema will be not be introducing fellow singer and baby daddy Eddy Kenzo as many might assume but rather Dr Hamzah Sebunya, a gynecologist at Mulago National Referral Hospital.
The kukyala ceremony of Rema and Sebunya secretly happened last month and the official introduction will be held on November 1 at her family’s home in Nabbingo.
NRM supporter who was hammered taken to unknown location
21-year-old National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporter, Baker Kasumba was last week attacked and crucified by unidentified men around Kalerwe.
According to the statement from police, Kasumba was on his way from work (JESCO Plaza near HAM Shopping Center) to his mother’s place and was confronted by two men who first hit him on the head before hammering him with two six inch nails.
Kibe zone Police post in Kalerwe came to the scene and immediately rushed Kasumba to Mulago Hospital. However, following a visit from various NRM officials, he was taken to unknown location to receive more treatment.
Bishop Samuel Kazimba replaces Stanley Ntagali as Archbishop of the Church of Uganda
Bishop Samuel Kazimba of Mityana Diocese is the new Archbishop-elect of Church of Uganda. He replaces Archbishop Stanley Ntagali. 38 Bishops in the House of Bishops voted for the candidates that included; Bishop Sheldon Mwesigwa of Ankole Diocese, Bishop Samuel George Bogere Egesa from Bukedi and Bishop Samuel Stephen Kazimba Mugalu from Mityana.
Bishop Kazimba will not officially become the Archbishop until he is enthroned as the Archbishop on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Namirembe.
